- Gameplay:
To get a CTR coin, you must choose the CTR Challenge mode and collect the C-T-R letters that are scattered across the level and finish the race first. If the player succeeds, he will receive a CTR coin of the color of the level. There are five CTR coins of each color (red, green, blue, yellow and purple). To achieve purple, you must enter the special levels and collect 20 crystals scattered across the screen. The CTR coins serve to enable five championships where you can get Colored Gems, if the player can get first in all five championships. These Gems enable the secret Turbo Track level.
Relics can be achieved by choosing Relic Race mode at any level. There will be a specific time for the player to complete the race alone. At the level several boxes containing the numbers 1, 2, 3 will be scattered. When you break one of these boxes, the race timer pauses for a few seconds, according to the number displayed by the box. A relic is gained if the player finishes before the time shown on the screen. There are three types of relics: sapphire, gold and platinum. Achieving 10 relics the Slide Coliseum track is enabled. When a boss is defeated, the player gets a key. It serves to open passage to the other maps of the game.

- Game Modes: Crash Team Racing can be played in several ways:
Adventure: In this mode you can choose a character (among the main ones), and bet on races against the other characters. Getting first, you win a trophy. If the player does not get first, he should play the race again.
Time Trial: In this mode you play alone. It serves both as training and to enable Dr. N. Tropy.
Arcade: In this mode you can play two players. There are two types:
- Single: The two players must bet against four more characters, ie instead of eight characters in the race, it will be only six. In this mode, races do not have points.
- Cup: is the same as Single. The only difference is that the races will have points.
Vs.: in this mode only two characters will play, which must compete with each other.
Battle: This mode is a kind of battle where the characters must play items against each other in order to defeat the opponent.
